About the Research

This research was conducted in the spring of 2023 by a History/Justice Studies student at the University of New Hampshire for Dr. Robert Eckstein and Dr. Amy Michael. Together they are working to create a training module meant for police officers that can shine light on the needs of gender-variant people. This module will work to further understanding and connection between police officers and the transgender community. Including the historical context of these issues will be key to helping understand why there is a disconnect between these communities.
